The course is carved through natural waterways and offers aggressive layouts. You need to exercise good course management to avoid deep fairway and greenside bunkers that amount to as many as 98 spreading the course. It also features that the green conditions are good, and greens are fast, well undulated and slightly elevated. Unless you read putting slopes carefully, you might have a risk of 3 putts. Not just greens but also fairways have undulations. Overall, the course is challenging but you feel tranquil playing here because you can enjoy the great nature. The course has extensive wetlands、 so bird life is abundant.

Scorecard

2nd Par 4 441 yards
A dogleg to the right. The second shot is over a wetland. A large bunker on the right side of the green will come more into play than the water. The layout of the slightly elevated green, the deep bunker and the wetland is excellent.

A signature hole over water and a bunker. All of the left side is a lake and a long bunker is placed along the lake. This is enough to take your breath away for this beautiful scenery and at the same time it is a really challenging hole.

7th Par 5 575 yards
A dogleg to the left with the green swung to the right. A wetland on the left will limit the landing area of each shot.

A slight dogleg to the left. A series of bunker on the left corner come into play on the tee shot. The green is well protected by bunkers, so an accurate second shot is needed.

A dogleg left, difficult par 4, although it is not long. The left side of the fairway borders a lake. The longer tee shot is, the narrower fairway becomes. Not only bunkers but also water hazards come into play on both sides of the raised green.

12th Par 5 538 yards
A dogleg to the right. Trees on the right and left sides is guarding the fairway, it looks like a woodland course. There is a wetland on the right of the elevated green. The strategically placed bunkers and the wetland are beautiful.

A very shot, sharp dogleg to the left. The tee shot requires over water. A long hitter can hit the tee shot close to the green. But it can also be a “sleeper” where unsuspecting disaster awaits.

A spectacular par 3 over water. The green is surround by water except for the right side. When you hit to the right side of the green to avoid the water, a large bunker will catch your shot.

A long, sharp dogleg to the left with a wetland on the left. The tee shot is over the wetland. You need to hit the long and accurate tee and second shots in order to hit the green in regulation. If your tee shot is too far right to avoid the water, it will cause a very long shot to the green. The green is elevated and guarded by bunkers.

It takes 1 hour and 20 minutes from Brisbane Airport and 20 minutes from Surfers Paradise by car. A spa facility is next to the clubhouse and its spa and massage have a good reputation. Charming houses are built around the course. Anyone can play from the longest tees. Yardage sticks are measured in meters. I stayed at Sheraton Mirage Gold Coast after plyaed in 2013.
