The course is an almost flat, parkland course. Most tee shots are difficult because the fairways are narrow, protected by trees on both sides and strategically placed fairway bunkers. It also features greenside bunkers which are deep and in play. The course is hosting an Australian PGA, The Australian Masters.

A par 3 with well-positioned bunkers. The green is double tiered, 45 yards deep, and surrounded by deep bunkers.

A sharp dogleg to the right. A series of 3 fairway bunkers on the left and trees on the right call for an accurate tee shot. Especially, a large tree on the left corner comes into play off the tee, so this hole best suits a fade ball. The green is very wide and slopes from left to right.

7th Par 5 536 yards
A slight dogleg to the left, beautiful hole. The third shot is gently uphill. Bunkering on the fairway and around the green is excellent. A long hitter can reach the green in 2 and count this as a birdie hole.

A straight, very short par 4.The tee shot is difficult as the fairway is narrow and guarded by trees on both sides. The green is well guarded by bunkers. A wedge is used on the second shot, so after a successful tee shot you can aim for birdie on this hole, too.

11th Par 4 437 yards
A dogleg to the left. The landing area is narrow off the tee due to bunkers on both sides. The green is sharply undulating so it is difficult to putt. Two bunkers guarding the left side of the green are well in play.

A great par 3. The green is slightly elevated and surrounded by bunkers. If you miss the green, the ball will almost always be found in one of the bunkers.

14th Par 5 607 yards
A slight dogleg to the left and then to the right, a long par 5. Because trees are hanging over the fairway on both sides, the tee and second shots need to be accurate. The gently sloping green is guarded by bunkers.

18th Par 4 448 yards
A straight long par 4. The tee shot is demanding as the landing area is narrow with excellent fairway bunkering left and trees on the right. The green is large, undulating and protected by bunkers on the front and left. This is a hole requiring both distance and accuracy on the tee and second shots.

It was my first time to play a Charles Allison course, one of the great golf course architects, outside of Japan. The other courses he designed or supervised in Asia are only found in Japan. He designed Hirono GC and Kawana – Fuji Course, and supervised Naruo GC and Kasumigaseki GC – East Course. 3 courses were ranked in the top 100 courses in the world for 2005 by US Golf Magazine and Kasumigaseki GC – East Course which wasn’t solely selected in 2005 used to be constantly ranked in the top 100 until 2004.
