Joondalup Country Club – Quarry & Dune Course
Built on a hilly site, part of which was abandoned limestone quarry, the course is routed past and over rocky ravines and sweeps across dense bush land, providing a picturesque landscape on every hole. It totals 27 holes, and the nines are called Quarry, Lake & Dune. The best combination is Quarry & Dune Course. Especially, the Quarry course is very fun to play . |

A slight dogleg to the right. The tee shot is downhhill and the second shot is uphill. A big fairway bunker on the right is a reachable 240 yards and a carry of 280 yards is needed to clear it, so aim your drive onto the left half of the fairway to avoid the big bunker. The large green is 60 yards deep and steeply undulating. |

A par 3 over a quarry. The front side of the green borders the quarry and to be short here is to be an OB. The green is wide and double-tiered, higher on the right. |

A great double dogleg hole, first to the left, then to the right. The second shot is uphill and you need to hit over a huge bunker onto the upper fairway or lay up safely onto the left side of the bunker. When a long hitter boldly tries to hit the green in 2 and the ball is short of the green even if a little, the huge bunker around 10 meters (30ft.) deep will catch the ball, leading to a bad score. A ladder is placed in this bunker. The green is big and slopes away to the back right. |

An almost straight, downhill hole. A long hitter may not need a driver to avoid a quarry 290 yards from the tee. The second shot is over the quarry. |

A dogleg to the right. Two fairways are provided off the tee. The second shot is uphill. A bunker protecting the left side of the green is in play. | |||

A very long par 3. The green is 50 yards deep and double-tiered. A driver might be used if the wind is against you or if the pin is at the back . |
A dogleg to the right, a difficult hole. A drive should be aimed for the left half of the fairway as it slopes to right. The fairway drops sharply and becomes very narrow beyond 250 yards from the tee, so it is safe to use a 3 wood on the tee shot. The green is highly elevated. If you are short of the green on the approach shot, deep bunkers catch the ball or the ball rolls down the steep slope. The green is wide and double-tiered rising to the left. |

A dogleg to the left. You should pay attention to the hidden bunker on the left 230 yards off the tee. Distance is needed on the tee and second shots: otherwise, you might not be able to see the pin on the third shot because of a mound in front of the green. The green is wide and slightly concave in the center, and slopes steeply from right to left. |

The Lake Course is not difficult compared to Quarry & Dune Course and has many beautiful holes. |

A gentle downhill, almost straight hole. The landing area off the tee is narrow with trees and bushes on both sides. Avoid the lake stretching out on the left side of the fairway. The lake also borders the left side of the green. |

It is a 30-minute drive from Perth and a 45-minute drive from Perth International Airport. The distance markers are in meters. A nice hotel is adjacent. Score cards says that visitors must play from the 5978 yards long white tees. It was too short to enjoy playing, so I played from the 6925 yards long championship tees except for 1st & 10th holes. There were no tees on that day, but I played from the longest teeing grounds. Members can usually play from the 6452 yards long blue tees. |
