This
is a flat seaside course. The fairways are wide and OBs are few, so the course
is not difficult. The front 9 holes are monotonous except for the excellent hole
6 and the layouts aren’t sophisticated. The back 9 are more interesting because
water comes into play on most holes. The green condition is good but slow, so
advanced players don’t feel challenged on the greens. |

|
A signature hole, with the beach on the right, which
is reachable in 2. The second shot is demanding because the trees on the left
come into play and the shoreline squeezes the landing area in front of the green
on the right. |

|
|
The longest hole, over 600 yards.
|
|
|
A very long par 4. A river on
the right and bunkers on the left come into play. The longer you drive, the narrower
the fairway becomes. |
|
|
A hole that requires shots over
water on both the tee and second shots. |

It takes 40 minutes from Xiamen and 50 minutes
from the airport by car and ferry. Xiamen is an island and doesn’t have any golf
courses inside the city. All the golf courses are on the mainland, across the
sea. I could freely choose the tees to play. |
