Set in the lush highlands of Bali and nestled
in the crater of a volcano, the course is pleasant to play due to mild temperature
and the overwhelming view of lush tropical forest. The high altitude (1140 meters
=3750 ft above sea level) should give you additional 10 yards to your distance.
I feel that the course rating of 73.6 is a little high and actually should be
1 point lower. Greens are well kept, fast and fun to putt. |

A slight downhill, an almost 90-degree
dogleg to the right. There is a creek along the right side of the fairway which
crosses the fairway 100 yards from the green. You can’t play too safely as left
side is well guarded by bushes as well. The key to success on this hole is accuracy
of the drive. This is truly a neat hole. | |
| |
A slightly uphill, a dogleg to the
left. The layout is not the best but several trees on the both sides of the fairway
have orange flowers that are peculiar to Indonesia, which makes this hole really
pretty. |

A slightly uphill par 3. You will
never forget the splendid view of the mountain behind the green. |
|
| |
This hole is very tight with trees
on the left and a pond on the right. Control of your second shot will make or
break your day as fairway becomes narrower closer to the green. |

A beautiful hole with a downhill drive
and uphill second & third shots. The fairway bunkers come into play to test
your ability and luck. |

It takes 2 hours to come here by car from major
hotels in Bali. The distance is a disadvantage but also limits the number of visitors.
If your schedule is not tight, you can stay at the lodges and the bungalows in
the golf club. The quality of caddies was very high. A drink at the bar counter
overlooking the whole course was excellent. I also recommend eating at one of
several local restaurants, 10-minute drive from the club, overlooking a beautiful
large lake.
The course architects, Peter Thomson (Thomson, Wolveridge & Perret)
designed other courses is Indonesia are Jagorawi G&CC, Lombok
Golf Kosaido CC, Fina G&CC, Gunung Geulis CC and Mountain View
GC.
