There are 36 holes in total, comprising the West Course & the East Course.
Both are great championship courses. This West Course hosted the Japan PGA tour,
starting in 2003. The design of each hole is different, The excellent use of lakes
and mature trees makes the course very challenging.

A slight downhill par 4. A long
hitter can drive to the water hazard that is not seen from the tee if he hits
a big ball to the left side of the fairway. The left side of the deep green borders
the water, so a precise approach shot is needed. |
|
|
The left side of the hole faces
the lake. It is safer to avoid the lake on the left and to attack the hole from
the right. |
|
|
A beautiful par 3 over the water.
There is water not only in front of but also on the left side of the green. |
|
|
A tough par 4 with OB on both
sides. The second shot is from a downhill lie. The approach shot tends to go from
left to right. The green is well guarded by bunkers. |
|
|
A long par 5. The fairway is
tight and there is an OB on the left and trees on the right. You need to hit all
3 shots very well; otherwise, it will be difficult to hit the green in regulation. |
|
|
A long hitter can hit the green
in 2 on this par 5 but the front side of the green faces a lake. The big green
slopes from back to front and is very fast toward the water, so putting from the
back of the green is intimidating. This hole becomes about 550 yards by using
the new tee ground, 40 yards longer than before, in order to meet the demands
of professional tournaments. |
|
|
There are trees on the left
and OB on the right. The fairway is relatively narrow on this hole, too. The green
is elevated, so the second shot becomes a little uphill. |

It was
unluckily rainy on the day I played, but the cherry blossoms that I saw occasionally
on the course were still beautiful. |
