A neat par 4, a slight dogleg
to the left. |
|
|
A very beautiful par 4. There
is OB on the right and a creek on the left, which are intimidating, and the closer
to the green, the narrower the fairway becomes. There is OB not just on the left
of the green but also at the back of it, so an accurate approach shot is required
on this hole. |

|
A par 4 where the water on both
sides of the hole is in play. The bunker in front of the green and the lake on
the left of the green also come into play. |
|
|
The “signature hole” par 3. The
river pours into the South China Sea and you hit over the river mouth. The river
mouth borders the wide green. The challenge at this hole lies in teeing across
the river mouth to land your ball on a gently contoured green flanked by bunkers
on either side. |
|
|
A dogleg to the left par 4 with
a creek on the left. You hit over the mangrove, growing thickly along the creek.
The green is long and narrow and only 15 yards wide. The bunkers guard both sides
of the green. |
|
|
A challenging par 4. The creek
runs on the right of the tight fairway. The fairway bunker on the left and the
bunker in front of the green are in play. |

It takes 45 minuets from Kota Kinabalu Airport by car and the Shangri-La
Hotel is adjacent. I felt the course rating of 74.0 was a bit high and
it would be around 72.5.
The other Ted Parslow designed courses in Asia are The
GC Datai Bay, Sebana GR in Malaysia and Amai GC in China.
