The course has three
9-holes sections - Putra, Palm and IOI. Putra & Palm course is the best combination
of the 3. Surrounded by rolling hills and natural ravines, the course uses lakes
and natural undulations strategically.

A long par 4 with water to the
left of the fairway. The green is deep and guarded by bunkers. The green slopes
from the back to the front. |

|
A demanding hole. It is said that the hole is the most difficult
among the 27 holes of this golf club. A lake crosses the fairway twice. The distance
to the first water hazard is less than 160 yards while the second hazard is just
inside 100 yards. With a bunker guarding the front of the green, the choice of
the club must be strong enough to carry on to the green. |

A strong downhill with OB on
the right. A big bunker in the center of the fairway is reachable with a drive
of 260 yards. There are a series of bunkers along the right side of the fairway.
The left side of the green faces water. The view from the elevated tee is superb,
providing you with a marvelous picture of the landscape. |

A par 3 over a pond. The front of
the green is guarded by a water hazard. |
|
|
A slight dogleg to the right
with a creek running 80 – 100 yards in front of the green. The third shot is a
little uphill to the green with a pond on the left, so an accurate approach shot
is required. |

It is 30 minutes drive from Central Kuala Lumpur and 40 minutes
drive from the airport. The course is within a big resort area including
2 hotels, Marriott and Palm Garden. The clubhouse is splendid. Night golfing
is available only on weekdays because of the lighting at the Palm Course.
The
distance is measured in meters. I could freely choose the tees to play.
The course was chosen as the 13th of the top 20 Malaysian Course and
the 1st place regarding the best clubhouse by the Golf Malaysia readers’
polls in of 2004. The other Rick Robbins designed courses in Asia are
Palm Villa G&CR, Bandar Putra GC in Malaysia and Kedaton GC in Indonesia.
