This is a parkland-style
course with few ups & downs, which lies in a valley surrounded by beautiful
rolling hills. There are thousands of mature native trees, marked by creeks and
well-designed water hazards. The main hazards are generally the mature trees that
line both sides of the fairways. The course, following the slope of a natural
creek, contains many ancient trees, demanding you precision and strategic placement
off the tee. The course was designed by a local golf enthusiast, Dr. Sukhun. It
is the most successful effort by someone, who although not a professional golf
architect, had an intuitive understanding of what was required and utilized successfully
the natural terrain without major modifications. Having a golf round here will
be just walking in a big garden.

A left dogleg, long par 4. The
tee shit is over a creek. |
|
|
A par 3 surrounded by trees. Be careful
of a right to left shots as there is OB on the left of the green. |
|
It remains quietly in the forest.
Three trees in the front left of the green are in play. |
|
A dogleg
to the right. The landing area off the tee is narrow with a well-placed water
hazard on the right. The second shot is over the water. A full carry is needed
on the second shot as the front side of the green boarders the water. The green
slops steeply from back to front. |

|
A dogleg to the left with creeks
on both sides of the hole. A winding creek, which hugs the left side from tee
to green, becomes a blind lake cutting into the fairway 250 yards off the tee,
which force a long hitter not to use a driver unless his shots are accurate. It
also snakes across the driving line to pass behind 3 bunkers on the right. You
should avoid these, and the second shot is slightly downhill. The green is gurded
by bunkers on the front and behind and the ever-present creek on the left. The
green is narrow & small and slopes from the right to the left. |
|
|
A slight dogleg to the right.
Accuracy on the tee and second shots is required as the relatively narrow fairway
is protected by trees on both sides. Watch out for a water hazard on the right
side of the green

It is a 40-minute ride both from Chiang
Mai and airport. A hotel is adjacent. I could choose freely which tees to play
from.
