The course is built on a flat terrain where some wetlands are converted
into lagoons. The front 9 has many easy holes and may not be too
challenging for low handicap players while the back 9 is much tougher
and each hole varies more significantly. This is a relaxing resort
course that isn’t difficult. Laguna Phuket GC is also called “Banyan
Tree Course”.

A slightly downhill, long par 3. The green measures almost 60 yards in length
and the difference of the front and back pins is 40 yards at maximum, making
the club selection important depending on the pin position. This hole is
not only long but also water on the right of the green comes into play.
It is a challenging hole.

A dogleg to the left. If you can drive over the trees, you can shorten the
distance on the second shot. This will make it easier to hit onto an island
green over water. |
|
|
A slight dogleg to the right. Be careful of a lake, which can’t be seen
from the tee, on the left of the fairway 250 yards off the tee. The second
shot is over the lake and probably the most difficult shot on the course.
The shallow green is protected by a sweeping bunker of almost 100 yards
in the front. The surrounding view of the green from the second shot area
is superb. |

|
A slightly dogleg to the left. The fairway is narrow with trees on both
sides. If your tee shot is errant, even if only slightly, you have a high
chance of a bogey. The green is narrow, double-tiered and protected by bunkers
on both sides.

A long par 5.This is a signature hole that doglegs right adjacent
to a big lake. Waters come into play on both sides off the tee. The second
shot needs to be accurate as the landing area is narrow with the water on
the right and a series of bunkers on the left. A precise lay-up is needed
on the second shot as the lake protrudes into the fairway just short of
the large tree, so if you use a 3 wood on the second shot, you will likely
find your ball in the lake. Then, you may use a fairway wood on a long third
shot. This is a hole that is very happy with a par.
